A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to non-existent email addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from pals or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Web Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux cloud web hosting with us and you wish to activate the catch-all feature for a particular email mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in the account. You can pick one email address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all email messages sent to mistyped addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. All the email addresses that you’ve created using the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be displayed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will see a mini sign conveniently located directly next to each of them. With only one mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable the feature through the contextual menu that will pop up. If any of the requirements for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will warn you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
